Homeschool has changed the way we live!

On Sunday night our oldest daughter started vomiting out of nowhere at my husband’s work party. We have all been totally healthy so it caught us completely off guard. We left the party to come home and care for her…within 3 hours, all four of us were throwing up. It was a ROUGH night to say the least. It totally threw a loop for our plans for the week but I am so grateful for the freedom of homeschool. We laid around all day on Monday trying to rehydrate, Tuesday we were eating a bit more and trying to wash everything that was in the path of destruction from Sunday night. Today we slept in again and did a little bit of devotional together, a couple of pages from our math practice workbooks and then we were done. I am catching up on some household chores and trying to rest more while the kids are playing veterinarians in the living room. I have so much peace knowing we aren’t falling behind. The kids won’t be stressed with ‘make up work’, we simply pick back up where we left off when we are feeling back to ourselves. There is no pressure in our home for our kids to do hours and hours of book work, to test high on standard tests or pressure to do 10 subjects of learning a day. We do a little at a time and they MASTER what they are learning rather than skimming through and trying to just pass the test. This way of living and learning is truly changing the way we live day to day and is creating so much peace in our home!

Here are some things to look for in my coming blog posts…I will be sharing about books I have read that have helped me immensely, books I am reading with my kids, how reading has changed our school day, devotionals we use, adventures we take and learn through, what I am teaching my kids and how, what our routine looks like most days, what my kids are passionate about, what types of classes they take outside of our home ect.

I would love for you to comment below and tell me what you want to know! I am so incredibly grateful to be on this homeschool journey and would love to share, encourage and just be friends with you all!!
