Five ways to add romance to your wedding day (from a photographer’s POV)

Five ways to add romance to your wedding day (from a photographer’s POV)

Looking to add more to your wedding day?! Check out the 5 ways my couple Selena and Jacob added romance to their big day!

Jacob and Selena blessed me with the opportunity to take engagement photos with them and participate in their wedding day! And let’s just say this wedding day was full of love, individuality, and BIG HEART EYES!

Adding a touch of romance to your wedding day can make it even more special and memorable. Here are a few reasons why:

  • It creates a more intimate and personal atmosphere for you and your partner.

  • It helps to set the tone for the rest of your marriage.

  • It can help to make your wedding day more unique and special.

  • It adds an element of surprise and excitement for your guests.

  • It can help to create beautiful moments that you'll cherish for a lifetime.

  • It can make your wedding day more romantic and enjoyable for everyone involved.

  • It can help to create a more romantic and loving relationship between you and your partner.

Here are my favorite ways that Jacob and Selena romanticized their wedding day:

  1. The Details

Choosing intentional details for your big day can make a big difference! Jacob and Selena chose a color palette that perfectly fit their big day, prepared their items for photos they can look back on for the rest of their lives, and were intentional with how they went about their day and their timeline! If you feel overwhelmed with the details, don’t hesitate to ask for help! Are no friends or family available? Hire a professional! And know that when you book me as your photographer, I will work alongside you and your timeline to ensure we can optimize your time for photos and allow you to enjoy your day!

2. Showcasing their individuality

Can we talk about the cake topper?! Jacob’s guitar! The family memorial area?! The fact that they shared gifts with each other during their first look?! Adding personal touches for your guests to enjoy allows a wedding to go from just being a “Pinterest picture” and turn it into a unique experience for all to enjoy!

3. The venue

Selena and Jacob were married at Creekside Farms in Rush City, MN. This venue screams fairy tail! From the romantic willow trees to the dramatic doors, this venue was a perfect addition to anyone’s wedding day!

4. Sunset photos

Sunset photos are often romantic for several reasons! They provide a warm, soft light that creates a dreamy, intimate atmosphere. The sunset colors, warm oranges, pinks, and purples evoke passion and romance. The setting sun symbolizes the end of the day and the beginning of a new evening, which can be a time for reflection and relaxation. For weddings, a sunset photoshoot is a perfect way to get away as a couple and spend a few more moments together, celebrating the start of your lives together!

5. And, of course, their love!

Love is often associated with romance because it evokes strong emotions and feelings of passion, intimacy, and connection. It can create a sense of excitement and anticipation and inspire us to go above and beyond for our loved ones. Romance often involves thoughtful gestures, such as surprise gifts or date nights, that show our partners how much we care. Ultimately, romance is about celebrating our love for one another and cultivating a deep and meaningful connection that brings us closer together.

At the end of the day, love and commitment to each other is the most crucial part of a wedding day! Without love, a wedding is just another day. With love, a wedding is the start of a beautiful future for a couple as one.

Congratulations again, Jacob and Selena, and thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your beautiful beginning! It was so much fun seeing how much you two enjoy each other and how deeply in love you two are!
